Last week, I bought a vlogging camera when I was transiting in Singapore airport.
I wanted my content to be more raw and engaging… bringing my audience along a journey with me, going behind the scenes and sharing on what I am doing, real time.
I am probably the most introverted person that I know. If we have dinner, you’ll realise I don’t say a single word the entire night. Yup, that’s how awkward I can be.
So vlogging is not exactly my strength, as I have to talk to the camera and not have someone shooting me and asking me questions.
The things that are scary for me are…
… what would my audience think? Would people really want to see what’s going on in my life?
… I’m being such a douche, filming myself while walking in airport, while boarding the plane
… I don’t know what to say on camera
Even after speaking on stages for more than 8 years, I can tell you, the struggle is real.
But right after those thoughts ran through my mind, and constantly asking Shu Yiing if I am doing okay, I decided to snap out of my own thoughts and just do it.
How often have you felt the way I felt?
You set a goal, you were really excited about it and you went out of the way to prepare to make it happen and when it’s time to actually do it, you talk yourself out of it.
I’m sharing this story with you because I want you to know that I feel scared too. I doubt myself as well.
So if you have that one thing that you really wanted to do, go out there and do it today. Know that I am here rooting for you and your progress.
