One of the most frequent questions my team and I get is, “Peng Joon, I want to be like you. What do I need to do in order to hit 7 figures mark?”
Trust me, we get this question in our support inbox almost every other day.
The truth is, it’s common that people just want the results I have.
But what about the things I’ve done in the last 10 years to separate myself and steer clear from the path of becoming a one hit wonder. Have you ever heard those songs that hit #1 on chart but then you’ve not heard any new songs ever since? 20 years later, still the same song.
I do not want to be that guy.
In the process of building, growing and scaling my business, I realised the one thing all successful entrepreneurs and eight figure marketers have in common.
Do you know what it is?
STRUGGLE.
Everyone of them struggle. You just don’t see it.
This photo was taken when I was on stage receiving my second 8 figure award.
There was about 2 dozen people in the Clickfunnels community that has received this award.
Now if you take a look at this picture, the man who organised this entire event, Russell Brunson, together with his business partner, Todd Dickerson, they have built a 9 figure business.
If you follow Russell Brunson, you’ll know his story. There was one point in time where he had to fire nearly all 80 employees and nearly declared bankruptcy because his business didn’t go as he planned.
He persevered.
Right after that business, together with Todd, he launched Clickfunnels and today, Clickfunnels is a 9 figure company.
People might often think, ahh.. You got lucky. Russell got lucky.
Let me tell you this.
Behind a successful entrepreneur lies countless sleepless nights, worries and struggles. What separates and differentiates successful people isn’t that successful people don’t have problems. If anything they have more problems.
They just deal with problems differently.
The person standing next to me, Dan Lok, he’s an immigrant and he talked about how he was bullied in school, struggled with his accent, just like me, he isn’t where he is today just a couple years ago.
I can keep going.
I know more than half of these people on stage.
They are personal friends.
I can tell you every single one of them have struggles, problems, things to deal with no less than you do.
Know that struggle is part of the success equation.
It’s about finding a way to overcome these struggles joyfully.
Keep going. Persevere. I’m rooting for you!
