You know that churning white-hot ball of nerves that surges up in your gut and just hangs out there when you’re about to do something out of your comfort zone?
Maybe your knees wobble a little, too. Maybe your hands shake, and your voice trembles.
Maybe your heart’s hammering so loudly, like a bass drum on both sides of your head, you’re sure everyone around you can hear it as clearly as you can.
If you’ve ever experienced any of that, you know how I felt the first time I ever spoke from stage.
Even though I was grateful to be there–after all, my dream was to become a world-renowned speaker–it was absolutely terrifying. I’m talking puke-and-pass-out terrifying!
But you know something?
I did it. I delivered that presentation, and afterwards, once the terror and adrenaline wore off, I was proud of myself for seeing it through.
What’s more, I did it again, and again, over and over, for 7 years (and counting).
Not only that, I actually got good at it–so good that very high-level entrepreneurs pay me a lot of money to teach them how to speak (and sell) from stage.
But to get to this amazing place, I had to start at the very beginning, with that very first painful speech; and then I had to keep doing it.
Even when it was scary. Even when it was hard. Even when I didn’t feel like it.
If I hadn’t, not only would I not be where I am, I’d still be standing on the sidelines, full of regret, wondering where I’d be if I’d only kept going.
A brand new year is here.
A new beginning.
Have you accomplished all you thought you would when 2018 began?
I truly 100% hope so. I hope you’ve done everything you wanted to, and more.
But if you haven’t, here’s what I want you to do.
Commit, right now, to making 2019 your best year ever.
Commit to working, every day, toward your goals, whether you “feel like it” or not.
Commit to never settling for less than the life of your dreams.
Commit to never again having to say to yourself, “If I’d only kept going…”
Now I’d love to hear from you: What’s that #1 big goal you want to accomplish by the end of 2019? Hit reply and let me know.
Here’s your most amazing year ever. Let’s do it.
