I am gonna talk about what commitment is and how it only comes down to two things to stay committed.
Commitment is what transforms a promise into a reality.
Today, the word “commitment”, is so commonly used and thrown around. To make it easier, I have narrow it down to only two important factors that influence commitment.
So, How Do You Stay Committed?
#1 Doing What You Say You are Going to Do
One of the instilling values that was taught by my father growing up is to always practice the truthful way of speaking. That your word needs to be law. What I am trying to say is that the times where we tell other people or ourselves, from simple things like sending an email or going to a 9 am meeting or to as important as taking care or loving someone. Look, everyday we are making these commitments, whether it is small or big and if you want people to believe you. It all begins by doing what you say you are going to do. The reason is simple, how can you believe what someone else have to say when you don’t believe what you tell yourself.
So remember before anyone else can believe in you and what you have accomplished, you must first and foremost believe in yourself. Your dreams, your goals, your ambitions, it needs to be realized. So if you are going to start a workout plan to achieve the body of your dreams and that you are going to gym five times a week or that you are going to be more productive by cutting down the time spent on Facebook. Then, do what you say you are going to do. Just as simple as believing in yourself to make your goals happen.
#2 Take Action In Spite Of Your Thoughts, Emotions, and Feelings
It is easy to have a dream or a goal, but making it happen is another thing. There are going to be days where you feel demotivated and that your dreams might seem too big. When you make a commitment to yourself, there are going to be many days you don’t feel like doing it. Like when you have an alarm clock that rings 6 in the morning and your mind is telling you to snooze it rather than waking up. You will find yourself making all those good reasons and justification on why you should sleep in.
So, what keeps me motivated?
In my vision board, I have got my fitness goal in completing the spartan race. I have listed out my plans that needs to be completed in order to achieve the goal from training five times a week to sleeping correctly. The purpose of this vision board is to keep me focused and motivated. When you set a goal and take action on them, you are helping yourself in believing that you can achieve your dreams. Because every time you are motivated, you believe in yourself a little more too.
The definition of commitment, what is it?
It is to develop confidence in your ability to do what you say you are going to do and to take action!
