Imagine that one day, all of Bill Gate’s assets and money were taken away from him and he was dumped out on the streets.
Within a week, you would see him back to living his comfortable life and making money once more.
Why?
Because Bill Gates has something known as human capital.
He has knowledge. So even if he was homeless and destitute he could still offer his services as a consultant to any company out there and get right back to making a 6 figure salary.
This is why I’m a big believer in the importance of education.
Even if you’re given the best tools, the best resources, you won’t be able to do anything with them if you have no idea how to use them.
Education can benefit both you and, if you have your own company, your employees because:
1. It improves your value and performance
2. It provides an opportunity for advancement (for employees)
3. It adds to your skill repertoire
4. Employees who receive education opportunities (being sent for seminars and training etc) will be more inclined to stay at the company that allows them to grow their skills and keep them updated
Human capital is the collective skills, the knowledge and all other intangible assets an individual has that when combine together will create value and bring higher productivity.
So here are 5 ways to increase the value of your human capital:
1. Attend Seminars & Workshops
The most valuable education I’ve received was at the many seminars I’ve attended.
It’s at these seminars that you really learn what matters in life. How to be successful. The mindset you need to be an achiever. How to be a millionaire.
Now I know that last statement sounds a little kitsch.
But it’s true that at school, they teach you how to be a good employee… but never how to be a successful, independent millionaire.
Of course if you’d like my opinion on what the best seminar in the world is, I’d have to say my own 😛
Internet Income Intensive is so much more than a 3-day workshop that shows people how to start an online business of their own. I honestly believe that the alumni of III get so much more out of it than that.
I’ve had students come to me in tears because they’ve finally overcome their fear. It could be of meeting new people, speaking in public, going into unknown territory or actually taking that step to realizing that dream.
I am totally digressing and selling my own seminar right now.
Whatever. This is my blog.

Anyway, yes. Seminars and workshops are an excellent way to further your education and increase your knowledge.
2. Read and Research
This is a cheaper way of course.
Go online and do research on stuff you’re not familiar with.
It could be about how to drive traffic, building a list, affiliate marketing and so on. Whatever it is I’m sure you’ll be able to find something about it online.
Do this frequently and slowly you will be gaining knowledge on grounds you’ve never step foot on.
Alternatively you should read my blog religiously and worship my words.
Because I give out the best information. Hah.
3. Get A Mentor
When I first started out I had no one to look to for advice. I found everything out on my own through a lot of trial and error.
I certainly wish I had a mentor back then who could have guided me through it all and prevented me from wasting time, money and effort on crap strategies and scammy money-making opportunities.
Of course now I have a number of mentors who include Tony Robbins, Alex Mandossian and T. Harv Eker to name a few. It’s from these great guys that I’m able to learn and hone in my skills to the best of my abilities.
So go ahead and seek out a mentor.
Someone who is already doing what you want to do. Someone who is living the life that you want to live.
Instead of being petty and feeling envious, approach them, learn from them, follow exactly what they tell you to do.
By emulating a successful person, I guarantee that you will reach success much faster yourself.
4. Ask Questions
When it comes to education and the learning process, there is bound to be moments where you don’t quite understand things.
When that happens, ask.
The online marketing business is friendly and people love to communicate with each other.
So go ahead and ask around for answers, don’t just sit there and wait for the answers to come by.
Many of the posts I write are answers to questions that people email me, or even leave in the comments section below.
If you never ask, you’ll never know.
5. Don’t Fear Failure
You can’t win every time.
Despite my awesomeness I still fail from time to time.
It’s a learning process. The only way to move forward is to learn from your mistakes and avoid making them in the future.
But to use a fail of failure as an excuse to not even try is just retarded.
Fear itself is failure.
When you’re afraid to go out there and learn something new, you’ll be stuck under your rock.
So if you want to improve and build a great business, you have to let go of any fears you have that are holding you back from grabbing an opportunity for you to grow and learn.
Education is an ongoing process. It will never end.
Open yourself up to new opportunities. Never say “I already know that.” You’ll be shutting yourself away and trust me, you’ll be the only one missing out.
Get out there and expand your horizons!
