As you’ll be aware by now, I’m a huge fan of lifelong learning.
Because I believe that if you’re not learning, then you’re not growing. You’ll be stagnant. Never moving forward. Never improving. And never growing.
As the saying goes, “If you are not growing, you are dying.”
And that’s a super depressing thought.
You know I often wonder about people who turn their nose up and plaster a grimace on their face at the mention of an upsell. They’re just missing the whole point. I realize we’re all conditioned to switch off at the slightest hint of being sold to. I smile and walk away top speed from credit card salespeople in malls too.
But when it comes to learning…
Well that’s a whole other ballpark altogether.
I don’t see it as spending money or buying something. For me, it’s an investment in the most important asset you own. Yourself.
My cousin, brother and I at Enlightened Warrior Camp!
I’ve attended dozens of seminars, workshops and talks all over the world. Spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to do so. And I don’t regret parting with a single cent.
Even for seminars where I found the content to be weak or the speaker to be unconvincing… I always found that I got a massive takeaway. It could have been a friend that I made who eventually impacted my life positively or else it showed exactly what I didn’t want my own seminar to be.
But for the most part, I can honestly say that I’ve learned and improved so much in all aspects of my life because I choose to invest in myself. Whether it’s money management, mindset, public speaking or what have you, it all comes together and I’m all the better because of it.
So for people that turn their head away in disgust at the sight of a learning opportunity, well I feel sorry for them. They see it as being sold to. I see it as an opportunity to invest in myself.
I’m totally digressing.
All I wanted to say is that I’m going to Blair Singer’s Master Facilitator Program in Singapore this weekend.
The program gives you the ability to move way beyond the realm of a simple “Trainer”. And though my signature seminar, Internet Income Intensive has been going strong for the past couple years, and I’m comfortable speaking from the heart in front of a large audience, I’m always looking to improve.
So I’m seeing this as another step into personal investment. My goal is to be the best teacher I can be so that I can give back more to my students.
I’m really excited for this weekend. And I’ll let you know how it goes!
Invest in yourself today and do something that will help you grow in the right direction. I don’t mean sideways with the investment of ice cream…
Argh. I’m not good at this motivational stuff. You know what I mean 🙂
