Have you ever wondered, what happened to all the iconic brands like Nokia, Blackberry and Kodak…?
Why have they all disappeared? Why aren’t they releasing new gadgets?
The reason why they’ve phased out is because they didn’t INNOVATE.
It is literally the quickly way to be eliminated by your competition.
I remember talking to my dad’s uncle who’s well in his 70s now… I was showing him Uber and he said “That’s an interesting app. Getting a car just from one tap?”
I said “Yeah pretty much”…
And he responded with “Yeah… that’s not going to last very long” and he wasn’t threatened by it. Keep in mind that this was many years ago.
A while after we had that conversation, there was this really big thing here in Malaysia where about 20,000 cab owners returned their cars to the taxi company. This was an extremely sad day for them as they lost their jobs.
The thing is, when it comes to sustaining your presence and staying relevant, you have to keep innovating.
Otherwise, you will phase out and be forgotten, especially in today’s fast-paced world.
Think about the direction of where your market is going, innovate and stop trying to play catch up with your market.
