You’ve heard of people making money on social media, but have you ever wondered how they did it? Social media has been prevalent in the past decade or so and some have already made a ton of money just by having their presence on different platforms.
When I mention some of these different platforms, for example, MySpace, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, there’s bound to be a name that pops up in your mind. Whether it’s a social influencer or celebrity, there are people who are crushing it on their own respective platforms. These people make big money on social media and today, I’m going to talk about this one platform that is relatively new and how you can make money off of it.
How To Earn 6 Figures By Posting 60 Seconds On TikTok
Did you know people are earning 6 figures posting a 60 seconds video on TikTok? Whenever there’s a new platform introduced, it’s crucial you take advantage of it!
Making money on TikTok is like making money anywhere else. It requires work, creativity and giving what the consumer wants. As marketers, you want to be that early adopter who built that following before everyone else. Remember this, the more people you serve, the more money you will make.
What If It’s Just A Fad?
Most people will have doubts on whether the platform is sustainable, will it survive? Many platforms were popular back in the day and most just died out. We may not know if it’s here to stay, but what we do know is during that time when it’s under-priced, there are tons of opportunities where before it dies out you actually migrate that following to a different platform. And if it dies, do not cling onto the platform or else you brand will die along with it too. Have your followers be loyal to you and not the platform.
Understand that because you will never know whether it ultimately stays or dies out, you’d want to double-down when it comes to under-priced attention. Build a following for the purpose of migrating it, because of under-priced attention. Build a following on TikTok for cheap, and then migrate people over.
Number One: Cross-promoting Platforms
Start building a following on TikTok. Because the platform is relatively new, it’s very under-priced right now and it’s slowly gaining attention which makes it easy because the algorithm and organic is still good. Organic on Instagram, however, is actually falling over the months and it’s gonna continue to decline because that’s just how all platforms evolve.
The first thing that marketers are doing is they’re building a following on TikTok that isn’t really monetizable yet, but they’re cross-promoting and cross-farming platforms. What they’re doing is redirecting their TikTok following into a platform that is monetizable, like YouTube. They upload content on TikTok, which isn’t monetizable, but they have constant call-to-actions to their videos on YouTube. On YouTube you’ve probably seen ads before whenever you click on a video. The prelude ad that happens before a YouTube video is played is actually how they’re monetizing.
Number Two: TikTok Compilations On Youtube
Anyone can upload videos onto YouTube and monetize it. How people do this is by compiling the latest TikTok trends, which could be 15-second video clips, and turn them into a 10-minute full length video onto YouTube. These compilations normally garner millions of views which then convert into payouts through CPM, also known as cost per miles or impressions. Because those 15-second videos are usually compact, they’re putting a lot of thought process into it. You are now getting a lot of compact videos, putting it all together into creating a great, 10-minute YouTube video. Then all you need to do is switch on Google AdSense on YouTube and they collect it. YouTube is owned by Google, and that’s how you’ll be able monetize using those ads that appear on YouTube.
Number Three: Paying Influencers On TikTok To Promote You
Lastly, number three is all about paying influencers on TikTok to promote your product, your brand, your service, your drop-ship, your business, etc. Again, prices of new platforms are always underpriced so right now, all these different influencers on TikTok with a huge following and attention, there isn’t much revenue streams for them to monetize, because the platform has not matured enough yet, and they aren’t rolling out the ads the same way how Facebook, Instagram and YouTube has rolled out the ads to monetize the fan base. TikTok is still focused on user growth rather than monetization right now. That means that the influencers who have a huge following are going to be a whole lot cheaper than an influencer on Facebook or YouTube, because the channels to monetize hasn’t been fully implemented yet.
Right now, the price of attention for these influencers are cheap and you could be buying ads, shout-outs and promos from these people, where they’re charging real cheap compared to other platforms, because they don’t have a monetization strategy yet. You will be able to hook up with them just so that they can promote for you. Your cost per click, cost per shout-out, cost per visit to your funnel, and cost per lead is going to be drastically lower than all these other platforms.
Understand that even if your demographics aren’t there, and you’re trying to target that 55-year-old lady or woman or man, you could be targeting their kids who ultimately could also affect their decision.
