Most of our lives we compared ourselves with the success of others simply because we want to be like them. More often, we look into what we can see on the outside and the surface level which is the result.
We fail to see their hard work and their struggles.
The effort and amount of work that was put together to get to where they are today.
If we take a look at one of the most talented and dominant gymnast today, someone who has earned many medals and world championships. We look at the results of her success, how many Olympic medals or championships she earned rather than the process of what she had to do and how she did it to get to where she is today. How many jumps or leaps she had to practice to achieve the perfect jump or how many times she had to fall on her butt to score the perfect 10! These are all her hard work that she made to get her to the top.
All the people who have made it, the successful people, one of the many things that they have in common was the hardship. They embrace the journey. They are more focused and driven to achieving success through hard work. Despite the challenges or obstacles, they enjoy the process because they are doing something that they are passionate about.
Yes, it requires much more than that to be successful but the process, the hard work is the one thing that cannot be substituted with anything else.
The problem we all live with which I find it appalling is the lack of patience. They tend to want an easier way to be successful without willing to make any sacrifices and eventually they give up very quickly. Remember this, nothing great can be achieved without hard work or patience. There is no fast track to success. So, be willing to put in hours because nothing is worth having if it comes too easily.
Now, ask yourself this, who do you look up to that drives you to be better? What hard work did they had to go through to get them where they are today?
